Multigrain Cereal breakfast recipe ( for 7+ and 8+ months baby )
1 Cup – Wheat
2 Cups – Oats ( quick oats )
of what rice to buy, buy organic white rice.
Method:
Step 1) Get ready with all the ingredients
Step 2) Quickly wash the wheat, rice and drain the excess water using a colander/strainer ..
Step 3) Heat a shallow pan or wok, add the wheat and rice and roast until they become dry and crispy ( takes 5 – 6 minutes )..
note: the rice will be wet and clumped at first.. as you roast, it will become dry and crispy .. also the wet rice will stick to the spoon when you stir .. ( it will stop sticking when ready – watch the video for a clear idea ) ..
Step 4) Once they are crispy, spluttering and the rice stops sticking to the spoon, turn off the heat
Step 5) Spread on a plate. Add the oats, mix and let it cool for 3 minutes before grinding ..
Step 6) Grind in small batches and store in a clean dry jar or an airtight container and use as needed..
note: If the multigrain powder is warm after grinding, let it cool for 10 minutes before closing with the lid..
Cook the multigrain cereal ( for 7 and 8 months baby )
3/4 cup – water
1 scoop – formula ( optional – adds a creamy taste)
Around 7 months, your baby may eat around 1/4 cup of food
Around 8 months, your baby may eat around 1/2 cup of food
Method:
Step 1) Get ready with all the ingredients ..
Step 2) Into a saucepan, pour 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp multigrain cereal, and bring it to a boil .. ( keep stirring ) ..
Step 3) When it starts boiling, stir and cook for 1 minute and pour into a serving bowl .. ( Let it cool down before serving )..
note: The consistency should be medium-thick.
If you like to add the formula, add a scoop ( just before serving ), mix and serve
Recipe #1 – Banana Multigrain Cereal
Step 1) Cook the multigrain cereal as we just did .. let it cool .. Before serving, mix 2 tbsp of mashed banana and serve
Recipe #2 – Apple Multigrain Cereal
2 tbsp – multigrain cereal
1 scoop – formula ( optional )
1/2 tbsp – apple ( peeled, de-seeded & finely chopped )
( or the baby will spit the apple pieces 🙂 ..
Method:
Step 1) Get ready with all the ingredients ..
Step 2) Into a saucepan, pour 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp multigrain cereal, finely chopped apple and bring it to a boil .. ( keep stirring ) ..
Step 3) When it starts boiling, stir and cook for 1 minute and pour into a serving bowl .. ( Let it cool down before serving ).. If there are big pieces of apple, mash them using a spoon when hot.
note: The consistency should be medium-thick.
If you like to add the formula, add a scoop ( just before serving ), mix and serve
Recipe #3 – Pear Multigrain Cereal
2 tbsp – multigrain cereal
1 scoop – formula ( optional )
1/2 tbsp – pear ( peeled, de-seeded & finely chopped )
( or the baby will spit the pear pieces 🙂 ..
Method:
Step 1) Get ready with all the ingredients ..
Step 2) Into a saucepan, pour 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp multigrain cereal, finely chopped pear and bring it to a boil .. ( keep stirring ) ..
Step 3) When it starts boiling, stir and cook for 1 minute and pour into a serving bowl .. ( Let it cool down before serving ).. If there are big pieces of pear, mash them using a spoon when hot.

1 scoop – formula ( optional )
1 – date ( de-seeded & finely chopped )

Method:
Step 1) Get ready with all the ingredients ..
Step 2) Into a saucepan, pour 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp multigrain cereal, finely chopped date and bring it to a boil .. ( keep stirring ) ..
Step 3) When it starts boiling, stir and cook for 1 minute and pour into a serving bowl .. ( Let it cool down before serving ).. If there are big pieces of date, mash them using a spoon when hot.

Tips:
- If your baby has 2+ teeth around 8 months, you can offer this cereal without mashing the fruit pieces ( make sure you cut them fine )..
- You can take this ‘multigrain cereal’ as instant food for your baby while travelling with a flask of hot water. To prepare, mix 2 tbsp of this cereal with 1/2 cup of hot water and let it soak for 5 minutes. Add formula if needed and serve warm.
