Badam ( Almond ) milk drink powder recipe ( for 1+ toddlers & kids )

Ingredients: ( for badam (almond) milk drink mix for kids )

Badam (almond) – 1 cup ( or 250 gms )
Pistachios – 1/3 cup ( or 90 gms )
Saffron – a pinch
Cardamom ( elaichi ) – 6
Raw sugar ( or regular sugar ) – 1/2 cup ( or 100 gms )

Method:

Step 1) Heat a fry pan on medium heat

Step 2) Add the almonds and roast for a minute. Transfer to a plate

Step 3) Add the pistachios and roast for a minute. Transfer to the same plate. Let it cool for 30 minutes.

Step 4) Add the cardamom and mix

Step 5) Blending:

  • Into a blender or dry grinder, add 2 tbsp. of nuts, 2 tbsp. of raw sugar, pinch of saffron and pulse 5 – 6 times to powder it. ( do not grind as it can get sticky and oily ). Empty the powder into a clean jar. ( remove any nut pieces and keep aside )
  • Repeat grinding with rest of the nuts and raw sugar and empty into the same jar.
  • Finally, grind the nut pieces you saved while grinding and add the powder into the jar.
  • Store in cupboard or pantry ( no refrigeration needed ). Use upto 2 months.

Step 6) To make badam / almond milk drink:

  • Into a pan, pour 1/4 cup milk and a tbsp. of nuts powder.. mix like a paste
  • Add 1 cup milk and stir well.
  • Heat on medium and bring it to a boil .. ( keep stirring to prevent scorching )
  • Once it starts boiling, turn off the heat.
  • Pour into the cup and serve

note: you can also beat the drink between 2 cups for a frothy drink. Alternatively, you can use a milk frother. Enjoy warm 😀

note: For 2 servings, use 2 tbsp. of nuts powder and 2 cups milk

RECIPE #1 – Vegetable Egg muffins

Ingredients: ( for #1 – vegetable egg muffins )

5 – Eggs
1 cup – vegetables chopped ( carrot, beans, corn, peas )
1/2 tsp – salt
1/2 tsp – pepper
1 tsp – oil
some butter to grease the muffin trays

RECIPE #2 – Broccoli & cheese egg muffins

Ingredients: ( for #2 – broccoli cheese egg muffins )

5 – Eggs
1 cup – broccoli ( grated or finely chopped )
1/4 tsp – salt
1/2 tsp – pepper
1 tsp – oil
1/2 cup – cheese ( shreds or mixed cheese )
some butter to grease the muffin trays

RECIPE #3 – Spinach Egg muffins

Ingredients: ( for #3 – Spinach Egg muffins )

6 – Eggs
1 – tomato ( finely chopped )
1 tbsp – onion ( finely chopped )
1 cup – spinach (palak) chopped
1/4 tsp – salt
1/2 tsp – pepper
1 tbsp – butter

Blueberry date jam recipe

Ingredients: ( for blueberry date jam )

dates – 150 gms (seedless) ( or 12 mejdool dates )
blueberry – 200 gms ( or 3/4 cup )
water – 1/2 cup ( 1/4 cup for dates & 1/4 cup for blueberry )

Method:

Step 1) Take a sauce pan, add the chopped dates, 1/4 cup water. Cover and bring it to a boil

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce to low and cook for 10 minutes

Step 3) Add the blueberries, 1/4 cup water and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, cover and cook for 10 minutes

Step 4) Turn off the heat. Remove pan and let it cool

Step 5) Grind into a smooth paste. Fill into a clean jar. Refrigerate and use up to 3 weeks.

Oats cereal & porridge recipe baby food

Oats cereal & porridge recipe ( for 6 – 8 months baby )


Ingredients:
( for oats cereal )

Oats – 1 cup ( 250 gms )

Ingredients: ( for oats porridge )
Oats cereal – 2 tsp
water – 3/4 cup ( 180 ml )

How much to serve:
for 6+ months baby – 2 tsp ( starting week).. later 2 tbsp.
for 7+ months baby – 1/4 cup ( or 3 tbsp )
for 8+ months baby – 1/3 cup

Method:

Step 1) Add the oats into a dry grinder and pulse until fine. Add into an airtight container and use up to 1 month

Step 2) To make porridge:

  • Into a sauce pan, add 3/4 cup water and 2 tsp oat cereal. Mix well
  • Heat on high and bring it to a boil ( keep stirring to prevent scorching )
  • Once it starts boiling, reduce to low and cook for 1 minute. ( keep stirring )
  • Remove from heat and pour into a bowl. Serve when warm

note: If your baby refuses to eat the plain oats porridge, add a tbsp. of mashed banana, mix and serve
