HOW TO COOK – MEAT MINCE ( FOR 9 – 24 MONTHS BABY )

Ingredients: for meat mince recipe for baby

oil – 1 tsp
onion – 2 tsp ( chopped )
Ginger garlic paste – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Coriander powder – a pinch
Cumin powder – a pinch
Fennel powder – a pinch
Coriander leaves – 2 tsp ( chopped )
Tomato – half ( chopped )
Meat mince – 100 gms
Potato – 1 ( small – chopped )
Oats – 1 tbsp
Water – half cup ( 150 ml )

METHOD:

Step 1) Heat a pan, pour oil. Add onion and mix. Add ginger garlic paste and mix

Step 2) Add turmeric powder and mix. Add meat mince and mix for a minute on high-heat

Step 3) Add coriander powder, cumin powder, fennel powder and mix. ( add a pinch of salt for 12+ months babies only )

Step 4) Add tomato and mix. Add the potato, coriander leaves and mix.

Step 5) Pour half cup water, cover and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce to low and cook for 13 minutes ( until the potatoes are soft )

Step 6) Add the oats. Mix, cover and cook for 2 minutes on low heat. Turn off the heat

Meat mince meal for baby is ready.. Transfer to a plate.. Mash the potatoes when hot.. Feed when slightly warm..

Tomato Chutney recipe for teething baby, toddlers and kids


Ingredients:

Tomato – 3 ( grind and use )
Garlic – 1 ( crushed or paste )
Oil – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder – a pinch
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp ( chopped )

Method:

Step 1) Heat a pan, pour oil. Add mustard seeds, garlic and sauce for 10 seconds

Step 2) Add the ground tomato puree, turmeric powder, pepper, salt and bring it to a boil.

Step 3) Once it starts boiling, cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Add coriander leaves and turn off the heat..

POTATO and PEAS PARATHA ( FOR 1 YEAR TODDLERS & FAMILY )

INGREDIENTS:

FOR POTATO PEAS STUFFING

OIL – 2 TSP
GINGER GARLIC PASTE – 1 TSP
ONION – 1 ( CHOPPED )
TURMERIC POWDER – 1/4 TSP
CUMIN POWDER – 1/2 TSP
PEPPER POWDER – PINCH
POTATO – 2 ( PEELED & CHOPPED )
PEAS – 1 CUP ( OR 200 GMS )
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )
CORIANDER LEAVES – 1 TBSP ( CHOPPED )
SALT TO TASTE

FOR PARATHA DOUGH:

WHEAT FLOUR ( ATTA ) – 1 CUP
WATER – AS NEEDED ( TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH )
OIL – 2 TSP
SALT – TO TASTE
GHEE ( FOR COOKING PARATHA )

METHOD:

Step 1) Make the Potato Peas stuffing:

  • Heat a pan, add oil, ginger garlic paste and cook for 20 seconds.
  • Add onion and cook for 1 minute. Add the turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and cook for 20 seconds.
  • Add the potato pieces, peas, water and slat to taste. Cover and bring it to a boil
  • Once it starts boiling, cook on low for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
  • Once ready, remove from heat. Mash when hot using a masher.

Step 2) Make Paratha Dough:

  • Into a big bowl, add the wheat flour, salt, water and make a soft dough. coat with oil and let it rest for 10 minutes
  • Make dough balls.
  • Roll one dough ball into a paratha.. spread some potato peas stuffing on one-side of paratha. Bring the other-side on top and seal the edges using fingers or a fork.

Step 3) Cooking Potato Peas Paratha:

  • Heat a Tawa / skillet / pan. Add some ghee and cook the paratha on both sides until light brown. Add ghee on both sides while cooking..
  • Once ready, remove to a plate. Cut into small pieces and feed teething baby and toddlers.

Cooking time: takes 1 – 2 minutes depending on your microwave watts ( took 2 minutes in my 1100 W microwave oven )

Ingredients: ( for 2 minutes – 4 microwave mug cake recipe )

Recipe #1 – Vanilla Mug cake recipe

all purpose flour (maida) – 3 Tbsp
sugar – 2 Tbsp
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
milk – 3 Tbsp
oil or butter – 2 Tbsp
vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp

Recipe #2 – Chocolate Mug cake recipe

all purpose flour (maida) – 3 Tbsp
sugar – 2 Tbsp
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
milk – 3 Tbsp
oil or butter – 2 Tbsp
cocoa powder – 1 Tbsp
chocolate chip – 1 Tbsp

Recipe #3 – Sprinkle Mug cake recipe

all purpose flour (maida) – 3 Tbsp
sugar – 2 Tbsp
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
milk – 3 Tbsp
oil or butter – 2 Tbsp
sprinkle – 1 tsp

Recipe #4 – Blueberry Mug cake recipe

all purpose flour (maida) – 3 Tbsp
sugar – 2 Tbsp
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
milk – 3 Tbsp
oil or butter – 2 Tbsp
blueberries – 1 Tbsp
lemon juice – 1 tsp

Method:

Step 1) In all 4 microwave-safe mugs or cups, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, milk, oil or butter.

For vanilla mugcake, add the vanilla essence into cup 1 and mix well.
For chocolate mugcake, add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips into cup 2 and mix well
For sprinkle mugcake, add the sprinkles into cup 3 and mix well
For blueberry mugcake, add the lemon-juice and stir. add the blueberries and fold

Step 2) Microwave each mug for 1 – 2 minutes until puffed or doubled. ( cooking time depends on your microwave watts. It took 2 minutes in my 1100 W microwave oven )

Sore Throat relief drink recipe

Ingredients: ( for Sore throat relief drink recipe )

For one time use:
cinnamon stick – 1 tiny piece
pepper – 1/2 tsp
coriander seeds – 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
cloves – 1
honey or sugar – 1 tsp
water – 1 cup

for bulk powder:
cinnamon – 5″
pepper – 3 tsp
coriander – 3 tsp
cumin seeds – 2 tsp
cloves – 5

for kids: ( 4 – 8 year olds )
cinnamon – tiny piece
pepper seeds – 3
coriander seeds – 16 seeds
cumin seeds – 1/8 tsp ( 2 pinch )
cloves – 1

Method:

For 1 time use: ( see ingredients from 1 time use )
Step 1) Crush the cinnamon stick, pepper, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves using a kitchen tissue or mortar pestle ( or a quick crush using blender )

Step 2) Take a sauce pan, add 1 cup water and add the crushed powder into it. Add sugar or jaggery ( important: if using honey, add just before drinking ( do not boil ) )

Step 3) Heat on high and bring it to a boil. Once it boils, reduce to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 3 minutes.

Step 4) Strain into a cup. Drink when hot.. hope it gives you relief 😀

Step 1) Crush a small piece of cinnamon stick, 3 peppers, 16 coriander seeds, 1/8 tsp cumin seeds ( 2 pinches ), cloves -1 using a kitchen tissue or mortar pestle ( or a quick crush using blender )

Step 2) Take a sauce pan, add 1 cup water and add the crushed powder into it. Add sugar or jaggery ( important: if using honey, add just before drinking ( do not boil ) )

Coconut Almond Ladoo recipe

Tasty snack for toddlers & kids ..

Ingredients: ( for Coconut Almond/badam Ladoo recipe )

Coconut ( Fresh or dried ) – 3 cups or 400 gms
Almond (badam) – 1/3 cup or 100 gms
Ghee or butter – 1/4 cup ( or 60 ml )
Sugar – 1/2 cup or 120 gms
Milk – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )

Method:

Step 1) Chop the Almonds ( Badam ) into tiny pieces

Step 2) Heat a pan and roast the almond pieces (badam pieces) for 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate

Step 3) Heat a big pan. Add ghee or butter.

Step 4) Add the coconut and roast until slightly golden ( not brown or orange ) on medium-heat.

Step 5) Add milk and boil. Stir and cook until fully absorbed

Step 6) Add sugar and let it melt. Keep stirring and cook until fully absorbed.

Step 7) Add the roasted almonds and cook for just 1 minute.

Step 8) Transfer to a plate and start making ladoos ( or balls ) when hot. Press and hold for 3 seconds to let it stick together while shaping into ladoos ( or balls ).

Step 9) Refrigerate for 2 hours and enjoy 😀 ..

Taste tip: Refrigerate overnight & eat the next day to feel the real melt-in-mouth taste 😀
