Daliya Dates Porridge for baby

8 – 24 months baby breakfast recipe


Ingredients: ( for daliya dates porridge )

daliya ( broken wheat ) fine or coarse – 1/4 cup ( or 50 gms )
water – 3/4 cup ( or 180 ml )
dates – half ( finely chopped )
ghee – 1/4 tsp

How much to Serve:
Serve 1/2 cup = for 8 months baby
Serve 3/4 cup = for 9 – 12 months baby
Serve 1 cup = for 12 – 24 months baby

Method:

Step 1) Into a pan, add the chopped dates, water and stir. Cover and bring it to a boil

Step 2) When it starts boiling, add the daliya ( broken wheat ) and stir. Cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat

Step 3) Mash the date pieces with a potato masher or a flat spoon. Serve when slightly warm.

note: This porridge might thicken as it cools down. If too thick, add a tbsp. of boiled & cooled water and adjust to a swallowable consistency for your baby.
