Omelet Parata / Omelet Flatbread recipe / Omelette Chappati Recipe
Here is another “1 meal for all – toddler/ kids/family recipe” – OMELET PARATA / OMELET FLATBREAD .. very easy to make and most IMPORTANTLY your toddler/kids will love this too .. make this for breakfast, dinner or a quick evening snack :)..

Ingredients: ( for omelet Parata Serves 3 – 4 )
For the omelet mix:
1 Big Red Onion – finely chopped
1/4 cup coriander leaves – finely chopped
5 Eggs
1/2 tsp salt ( or to taste)
1/4 tsp pepper powder
oil – as needed to cook the omelet parata/omelet flatbread
For the Parata dough / Flatbread dough:
2 Cups – Atta / Wheat flour / ( You can also use wholemeal flour )
salt – 1/4 tsp
2 tsp oil – to coat the dough
Water – as needed to make a medium-soft dough
Method:
Step 1) Make the parata dough / flatbread dough:
- Into a bowl, add the Atta/wheat flour, salt and stir.
- Add little water at a time and make a medium-soft dough.
- Coat with a tsp of oil, Cover and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2) Make the omelet mix:
- Into a bowl, add the finely chopped onion, coriander leaves and mix with a spoon.
- Add the eggs, salt, pepper and whisk well with a spoon. Omelet mix is ready..
Step 3) Heat a tawa / griddle / pancake pan on medium-high heat.
Step 4) Divide the Parata dough / flatbread dough into 9 – 10 medium size balls.
Step 5) Take one dough ball, dust and roll one into a thin flatbread.
Step 6) Pleat the edges of the parata/flatbread one inches apart ( this will look like a well and keeps the egg mix within the parata/flatbread and prevents it from running out while cooking).. (Please watch the video for a clear idea :)..
Step 7) Once the tawa/griddle is hot, place the parata/flatbread and pour 1/4 cup of omelet mix in the centre, pour a tsp of oil over it and cook until the omelet looks set ( not running ..)
Step 8) Once the omelet looks set, flip, pour a tsp of oil and cook the other-side (omelet-side) for 30 – 45 seconds on medium heat ( by pressing the sides with a flat spatula)
Step 9) Flip again, cook for 15 seconds and take out the Omelet Parata / Omelet Flatbread into a plate ( or keep it warm in a hot box or inside a pre-heated oven until serving time)..
Step 10) Repeat with rest of the dough.. and your omelet parata / omelet flatbread is ready to serve :)..
- You can serve as it is.. or with ketchup or any other sides you wish..
- To serve your toddler, cut them into tiny pieces and serve as a finger food..
