Salmon Fish Curry Recipe
Hi Friends.. This is my version of Salmon Fish Curry with a touch of spices.
Wait wait – spices doesn’t mean HOT :D.. mild medium hot hottest – you decide !.
This recipe is part of my ‘weekly-recipes-to-cook’ list. The reason being HEALTHY, EASY, TASTY and VERSATILE – eat with rice, pancakes, flat breads or your favourite combo ! .. woo haaa !!..now, you can make this too :)..
Ingredients: ( for Salmon fish curry Serves 3 – 4 )
3 sprigs – curry leaves
3 medium onion (finely chopped)
3/4 tsp – turmeric powder
Tamarind paste – 1 tbsp (or 1/3 cup of diluted tamarind juice)
salt to taste
3 cups of water
Method
Step 1) Be ready with all the ingredients before cleaning the fish.
Step 2) Clean the fish – ( I used salmon with skin, so I scaled, rinsed and cut into 8 pieces). After rinsing, drain the water and place on a kitchen tissue.
Step 3) Heat a big curry pan and pour 1 tbsp of oil.
Step 4) When hot, add the mustard seeds and let it crack. Add methi/fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, chopped ginger and curry leaves.
Step 5) Add the chopped onion, green chilli and mix. Cook until the onion turns light brown (cover and cook to speedup the cooking time).
Step 6) Once the onion is light brown, add the chopped tomato and cook on high for a minute. Then reduce to medium and cook until soft.
Step 7) Reduce the heat to low, add the spice powders (turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, cumin powder) and mix for 20 seconds.
Step 8) Add the tamarind paste along with 3 cups of water. Add 1 tsp salt and bring it to a boil.
(note: after 15 minutes, check salt and add if needed)
