 BREAKFAST - OATMEAL FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
OATS – 1/4 CUP ( OR 2 TBSP ) – ANY OATS IS FINE
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )
OPTIONAL – BANANA ( HALF )
OPTIONAL – BABY FORMULA – 1 SCOOP

METHOD:

Step 1) Into a saucepan, add oats, water and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes

Pour into a bowl and feed..

optional – add half mashed banana for a sweet taste
optional – add 1 scoop of baby formula for a creamy taste

  LUNCH - DAL (LENTIL) & PUMPKIN MASH FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
DAL / LENTIL ( MUNG DAL OR TUR DAL ) – 1 TBSP
PUMPKIN – HALF CUP ( OR 100 GMS )
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )

METHOD:
Step 1) Into a sauce pan, add the lentil/dal ( mung dal or our dal ), pumpkin pieces, water and bring it to a boil.

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes

Pour into a big bowl and mash using a fork or a potato masher. Pour into a bowl and feed

 DINNER - FISH PUREE FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
FISH ( SALMON OR ANY LESS SMELLY FISH ) – BONELESS, SKINLESS – 100 gms
TOMATO ( GRIND AND USE ) – 1
WATER – HALF CUP OR 100 ml
TURMERIC POWDER – A PINCH

METHOD:

Step 1) Add all the ingredients into a sauce pan. Cover and bring it to a boil

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes.

Add the cooked fish pieces into a big bowl and mash. Pour some cooked water to get the right consistency for baby. Add into a bowl and feed..

Oats Almond Breakfast Powder for baby

FOR 1 TIME USE ( oats almond powder & porridge recipe )

Ingredients:
almond (badam) – 1
oats ( any oats ) – 1/4 cup or 2 Tbsp
water – 1 cup ( 250 ml )

Method:
Step 1) Take a grinder/mixie, add the oats powder, almond and grind into a fine powder. Add the powder into a sauce pan. Pour 1 cup water (250 ml) and mix.

Step 2) Heat on high and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 3 minutes. let it cool..

Pour it into a bowl and feed..

How much to feed:
for 7 months baby = 1/4 cup
for 8 & 9 months baby = 1/2 cup
for 10 – 12 months baby = 3/4 cup

FOR BULK POWDER ( oats almond powder )

Ingredients:
almonds (badam) – 6
oats ( any oats ) – 1 cup or 250 gms

Method:
Step 1) Heat a big pan. Roast the almonds for just 1 minute and remove from heat. let it cool

Step 2) Add the oats to the same hot pan and roast for 3 minutes or until very hot to touch. keep moving the oats to roast evenly.. After 2 minutes, check if its hot.. if very hot to touch, remove from heat and transfer to a plate. let it cool for 20 minutes..

Step 3) Time to grind: Mix the almonds and oats.. Take a dry grinder and grind the oats & almonds in 2 – 3 batches.

Step 4) Add the powder into a clean container. Check if any unground almond pieces are left in the powder. ( if you find any almond pieces, add it to the blender, grind it to a smooth powder and add the powder )

Step 5) If the powder bowl is warm to touch, let it cool for 20 minutes before closing with a lid. Once cool to touch, close with a lid and store inside the cupboard or pantry. You can use this powder up to 1 month.

6 months baby ( 7 recipes and day routine )

How much to feed: ( at 6 months )
Starting week = offer 1 – 2 tsp of pureed food.
From second week = increase to 1 – 2 tbsp of pureed food.

Important:
Wait for 2 – 3 days before introducing a new food. Always look for allergy signs when introducing a new food.

RECIPE #1 – Oats Porridge

Ingredients: for oats porridge
Oats – 1 cup ( or 250 gms )

To prepare porridge:
oats powder – 1 tbsp
water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )

Method:
Step 1) Heat a big pan. Add the oats and roast for 3 – 5 minutes until very hot. Once very hot to touch, remove from heat. Transfer to a plate and let it cool before grinding.

Step 2) Once cool, add into a blender and powder until fine. Oats powder ready. Add to a clean, dry container. ( If the oats powder bowl is warm to touch, let it cool completely before closing with a lid). Close with a lid and keep inside the cupboard or pantry and use up to 1 month.

To prepare oats porridge:
Step 1) Take a sauce pan, add 1 cup water(250ml) and 1 tbsp oats powder. mix and heat on high.

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 3 minutes. Pour into a bowl and feed when slightly warm.

RECIPE #2 – Avocado Banana Puree for baby

Ingredients: for Avocado Banana Puree
Avocado – half ( ripe and mushy )
Banana – half ( ripe )

Method:

Step 1) Into a bowl, scoop half or ripe avocado and mash well using a fork. Add to baby’s bowl. You can feed the avocado and banana separately or mashed together. Try giving the avocado first, if your baby doesn’t like it, mash the banana and mix with avocado and feed.

RECIPE #3 – Carrot Puree

Ingredients: for Carrot puree for baby
carrot – half ( peeled and chopped )
Water – 1 cup ( or 200 ml )

Method:

Step 1) Add the carrot and water into a sauce pan and heat on high. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. let it cool. Add to a blender/mixie, grind and feed. ( should be a smooth consistency for 6 months baby )

RECIPE #4 – Banana Puree

Banana – half ( ripe)

Method:

Step 1) Mash the ripe banana until fine and feed.

RECIPE #5 – Rice and Carrot Puree

Ingredients: for rice and carrot puree for baby
rice – 1 tbsp
carrot – half ( peeled and chopped )
Water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )

Method:

Step 1) Add the rice, carrot, water to a sauce pan. Bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat and cook on low for 10 – 15 minutes. Once cool, grind and feed. ( sometimes, this puree will thicken as it cools down. Adjust to right consistency by mixing some boiled and cooled water).

RECIPE #6 – Oats Banana Porridge for baby

Cook oats porridge like in recipe #1
Banana – half ( ripe)

Method:

Step 1) Cook oats porridge like in recipe #1. Let it cool. Mash the banana using a fork or a masher. Mix with the oats porridge and feed.

RECIPE #7 – Rice and dal porridge for baby

Ingredients: for rice and dal porridge for baby
rice – 1 tbsp
dal ( moong/yellow lentil ) – 1 tbsp
Water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )

Method:

Step 1) Add the rice, dal, water to a sauce pan. Bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat and cook on low for 10 – 15 minutes. Once cool, grind and feed. ( sometimes, this puree will thicken as it cools down. Adjust to right consistency by mixing some boiled and cooled water).

Oats Banana Breakfast Porridge for baby

Ingredients: ( for oats banana porridge for baby )

Oats – 1/4 cup ( or 60 gms )
Water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )
Banana – half ( ripe)

Method:

Step 1) Into a sauce pan, add the oats, water and heat on high. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Let it cool completely before grinding.

Step 2) Add the cooked oat porridge into a blender/grinder. Add half ripe banana and grind/blend for 30 seconds.

Pour into baby’s bowl and feed.

How much to feed:
6 months baby = 2 tsp – 1 tbsp
7 months baby = 2 – 3 tbsp ( 1/4 cup )
8 months baby = 1/2 cup
