Ingredients: Carrot – half cup ( or 100 gms ) grated Banana – half (ripe) All purpose flour or rice flour – 1 tbsp Water – 1 tbsp
Method:
Step 1) Take a bowl, add the banana and mash well using a fork or fingers. Add 1 tbsp water and mix well. Add the grated carrot, flour and mix well. Should be a thick batter.
Step 2) Heat a pancake pan or Tawa/skillet on medium-heat. Grease with butter or oil. Spoon small pancakes and cook both-sides for 1 minute or until firm. Remove to a plate and feed baby.
TIP:This pancake can also be made with egg. To make with egg, add 1 egg to the same batter and mix well. Follow STEP 2 for cooking.
oats almond breakfast powder for 7 – 12 months baby
FOR 1 TIME USE ( oats almond powder & porridge recipe )
Ingredients: almond (badam) – 1 oats ( any oats ) – 1/4 cup or 2 Tbsp water – 1 cup ( 250 ml )
Method: Step 1) Take a grinder/mixie, add the oats powder, almond and grind into a fine powder. Add the powder into a sauce pan. Pour 1 cup water (250 ml) and mix.
Step 2) Heat on high and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 3 minutes. let it cool..
Pour it into a bowl and feed..
How much to feed: for 7 months baby = 1/4 cup for 8 & 9 months baby = 1/2 cup for 10 – 12 months baby = 3/4 cup
FOR BULK POWDER ( oats almond powder )
Ingredients: almonds (badam) – 6 oats ( any oats ) – 1 cup or 250 gms
Method: Step 1) Heat a big pan. Roast the almonds for just 1 minute and remove from heat. let it cool
Step 2) Add the oats to the same hot pan and roast for 3 minutes or until very hot to touch. keep moving the oats to roast evenly.. After 2 minutes, check if its hot.. if very hot to touch, remove from heat and transfer to a plate. let it cool for 20 minutes..
Step 3)Time to grind: Mix the almonds and oats.. Take a dry grinder and grind the oats & almonds in 2 – 3 batches.
Step 4) Add the powder into a clean container. Check if any unground almond pieces are left in the powder. ( if you find any almond pieces, add it to the blender, grind it to a smooth powder and add the powder )
Step 5) If the powder bowl is warm to touch, let it cool for 20 minutes before closing with a lid. Once cool to touch, close with a lid and store inside the cupboard or pantry. You can use this powder up to 1 month.

Ragi & Dates porridge recipe ( for 6 – 12 months baby ) ( finger millet & date porridge for 6+ months baby )
Ingredients: ( for ragi dates porridge )
for 6 – 8 months baby:
ragi flour ( finger millet powder ) – 1 tbsp.
date – half ( small ) ( deseeded & chopped )
water – 1/2 cup ( 120 ml )
for 9 – 12 months baby:
ragi flour ( finger millet powder ) – 2 tbsp.
date – 1 ( small ) ( deseeded & chopped )
water – 3/4 cup ( 200 ml )
Method:
Step 1) Into a saucepan, add little water and ragi flour. Mix well. Pour remaining water, finely chopped dates and mix well.
Step 2) Heat on high and bring it to a boil. ( keep stirring to prevent scorching at the bottom of the pan )
Step 3) Once it starts boiling, reduce to low and cook for 1 minute.
Step 4) Remove pan from heat. Mash the date pieces when hot. Pour into a bowl and serve when warm. ( note: this will thicken as it cools down. If too thick, add some boiled and cooled to water to get a puree like consistency )
How much to serve:
for 6 months baby – 1 tbsp ( starting week).. later 2 tbsp.
for 7 months baby – 1/4 cup ( or 3 tbsp )
for 8 – 9 months baby – 1/3 cup ( 4 – 5 tbsp )
for 10 -12 months baby – 1/2 cup
