RECIPE #1 – CHICKPEA AND CARROT BABY FOOD

INGREDIENTS: ( FOR CHICKPEA & CARROT BABY FOOD RECIPE )

Chickpea ( chana ) – 1/4 cup or 2 tbsp
Carrot – 1/2 cup or 1 medium-size
Tomato – 1 tbsp ( chopped )
Garlic – tiny piece
Water – 3/4 cup or 200ml

FOR PAN COOKING, cook on low for 20 minutes.
FOR PRESSURE COOKER, 2 whistles.

RECIPE #2 – SPINACH AND SWEET POTATO BABY FOOD

INGREDIENTS: ( FOR SPINACH & SWEET POTATO BABY FOOD RECIPE )

Spinach ( palak ) – 1/2 cup ( chopped )
Sweet potato – 1 cup ( peeled & chopped )
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Water – 3/4 cup or 200 ml

FOR PAN COOKING, cook on low for 10 minutes.
FOR PRESSURE COOKER, 2 whistles.

RECIPE #3 – PUMPKIN, PEAS AND LENTIL BABY FOOD

INGREDIENTS: ( FOR PUMPKIN PEAS LENTIL BABY FOOD RECIPE )

Pumpkin – 1/2 cup ( peeled & chopped )
Peas – 1/4 cup
Lentil (mung Dal) – 2 tbsp
Cumin powder – 1 pinch
Water – 3/4 cup or 200 ml

NOTE: You can use any lentil for this recipe like mung(moong dal),
red lentil ( masoor dal), chana dal ( split yellow peas ),
French green lentil

FOR PAN COOKING, cook on low for 20 minutes.
FOR PRESSURE COOKER, 2 whistles.

Dal Baby Food recipe ( for 6 – 12 months baby )

Ingredients:
ghee – 1/2 tsp ( clarified butter )
dal ( moong dal / yellow lentil ) – 1 tbsp
rice – 1 tbsp
carrot – half or 1/2 cup ( grated and finely chopped )
turmeric powder – a pinch
cumin powder – a pinch
water – 1 cup ( 250 ml )

Method:
Step 1) Heat a pan. Add ghee. Add carrot and mix for 20 seconds. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix for 20 seconds.
Step 2) Cover and bring it to a boil. When it starts boiling,reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. ( If using a pressure cooker, 2 whistles )

Let it cool completely before feeding.
For 6 and 7 months baby, puree this and feed
For 8 – 12 months baby, mash using a big fork or a potato masher and feed.

For 6 months baby = 1 – 2 tsp starting week ( later 1 – 2 tbsp )
For 7 months baby = 2 – 3 tbsp ( or 1/4 cup )

For 10 -12 months baby = 3/4 cup
