Tips: Remember to give 20 – 30 ml boiled and cooled water ( 2 or 3 times a day )
How much to feed: ( at 6 months ) Starting week = offer 1 – 2 tsp of pureed food. From second week = increase to 1 – 2 tbsp of pureed food.
Important: Wait for 2 – 3 days before introducing a new food. Always look for allergy signs when introducing a new food.
RECIPE #1 – Oats Porridge
Ingredients: for oats porridge Oats – 1 cup ( or 250 gms )
To prepare porridge: oats powder – 1 tbsp water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )
Method: Step 1) Heat a big pan. Add the oats and roast for 3 – 5 minutes until very hot. Once very hot to touch, remove from heat. Transfer to a plate and let it cool before grinding.
Step 2) Once cool, add into a blender and powder until fine. Oats powder ready. Add to a clean, dry container. ( If the oats powder bowl is warm to touch, let it cool completely before closing with a lid). Close with a lid and keep inside the cupboard or pantry and use up to 1 month.
To prepare oats porridge: Step 1) Take a sauce pan, add 1 cup water(250ml) and 1 tbsp oats powder. mix and heat on high.
Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 3 minutes. Pour into a bowl and feed when slightly warm.
RECIPE #2 – Avocado Banana Puree for baby
Ingredients: for Avocado Banana Puree Avocado – half ( ripe and mushy ) Banana – half ( ripe )
Method:
Step 1) Into a bowl, scoop half or ripe avocado and mash well using a fork. Add to baby’s bowl. You can feed the avocado and banana separately or mashed together. Try giving the avocado first, if your baby doesn’t like it, mash the banana and mix with avocado and feed.
RECIPE #3 – Carrot Puree
Ingredients: for Carrot puree for baby carrot – half ( peeled and chopped ) Water – 1 cup ( or 200 ml )
Method:
Step 1) Add the carrot and water into a sauce pan and heat on high. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. let it cool. Add to a blender/mixie, grind and feed. ( should be a smooth consistency for 6 months baby )
RECIPE #4 – Banana Puree
Banana – half ( ripe)
Method:
Step 1) Mash the ripe banana until fine and feed.
RECIPE #5 – Rice and Carrot Puree

Cook oats porridge like in recipe #1 Banana – half ( ripe)
Method:
Step 1) Cook oats porridge like in recipe #1. Let it cool. Mash the banana using a fork or a masher. Mix with the oats porridge and feed.
RECIPE #7 – Rice and dal porridge for baby
Ingredients: for rice and dal porridge for baby rice – 1 tbsp dal ( moong/yellow lentil ) – 1 tbsp Water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )
Method:
Step 1) Add the rice, dal, water to a sauce pan. Bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat and cook on low for 10 – 15 minutes. Once cool, grind and feed. ( sometimes, this puree will thicken as it cools down. Adjust to right consistency by mixing some boiled and cooled water).

RECIPE #2 – Avocado Banana Puree for baby
Ingredients: for Avocado Banana Puree Avocado – half ( ripe and mushy ) Banana – half ( ripe )
Method: Step 1) Take half of ripe and mushy Avocado. Scoop the Avocado flesh into a bowl. Mash well with a spoon. Add ripe banana pieces and mash well. Mix together and feed.
( My baby eats half of medium-sized Avocado at 6 months )

Ingredients: for Pear Banana Puree Pear – 1 ( peeled and chopped ) Water – 1 cup ( or 250 ml ) Banana – half ( ripe)
Method: Step 1) Peel and chop the pear. Add into a sauce pan. Pour water. Cover the pan and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce to low and cook for 10 minutes. Let it cool completely.
Step 2) Add the cooked pear into a blender/ mixie. Add half of ripe banana pieces. Grind/blend for 30 seconds. Pour into baby’s bowl and feed.
