 POTATO and PEAS PARATHA ( FOR 1 YEAR TODDLERS & FAMILY )

INGREDIENTS:

FOR POTATO PEAS STUFFING

OIL – 2 TSP
GINGER GARLIC PASTE – 1 TSP
ONION – 1 ( CHOPPED )
TURMERIC POWDER – 1/4 TSP
CUMIN POWDER – 1/2 TSP
PEPPER POWDER – PINCH
POTATO – 2 ( PEELED & CHOPPED )
PEAS – 1 CUP ( OR 200 GMS )
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )
CORIANDER LEAVES – 1 TBSP ( CHOPPED )
SALT TO TASTE

FOR PARATHA DOUGH:

WHEAT FLOUR ( ATTA ) – 1 CUP
WATER – AS NEEDED ( TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH )
OIL – 2 TSP
SALT – TO TASTE
GHEE ( FOR COOKING PARATHA )

METHOD:

Step 1) Make the Potato Peas stuffing:

  • Heat a pan, add oil, ginger garlic paste and cook for 20 seconds.
  • Add onion and cook for 1 minute. Add the turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and cook for 20 seconds.
  • Add the potato pieces, peas, water and slat to taste. Cover and bring it to a boil
  • Once it starts boiling, cook on low for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
  • Once ready, remove from heat. Mash when hot using a masher.

Step 2) Make Paratha Dough:

  • Into a big bowl, add the wheat flour, salt, water and make a soft dough. coat with oil and let it rest for 10 minutes
  • Make dough balls.
  • Roll one dough ball into a paratha.. spread some potato peas stuffing on one-side of paratha. Bring the other-side on top and seal the edges using fingers or a fork.

Step 3) Cooking Potato Peas Paratha:

  • Heat a Tawa / skillet / pan. Add some ghee and cook the paratha on both sides until light brown. Add ghee on both sides while cooking..
  • Once ready, remove to a plate. Cut into small pieces and feed teething baby and toddlers.

 BREAKFAST - OATMEAL FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
OATS – 1/4 CUP ( OR 2 TBSP ) – ANY OATS IS FINE
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )
OPTIONAL – BANANA ( HALF )
OPTIONAL – BABY FORMULA – 1 SCOOP

METHOD:

Step 1) Into a saucepan, add oats, water and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes

Pour into a bowl and feed..

optional – add half mashed banana for a sweet taste
optional – add 1 scoop of baby formula for a creamy taste

  LUNCH - DAL (LENTIL) & PUMPKIN MASH FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
DAL / LENTIL ( MUNG DAL OR TUR DAL ) – 1 TBSP
PUMPKIN – HALF CUP ( OR 100 GMS )
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )

METHOD:
Step 1) Into a sauce pan, add the lentil/dal ( mung dal or our dal ), pumpkin pieces, water and bring it to a boil.

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes

Pour into a big bowl and mash using a fork or a potato masher. Pour into a bowl and feed

 DINNER - FISH PUREE FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
FISH ( SALMON OR ANY LESS SMELLY FISH ) – BONELESS, SKINLESS – 100 gms
TOMATO ( GRIND AND USE ) – 1
WATER – HALF CUP OR 100 ml
TURMERIC POWDER – A PINCH

METHOD:

Step 1) Add all the ingredients into a sauce pan. Cover and bring it to a boil

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes.

Add the cooked fish pieces into a big bowl and mash. Pour some cooked water to get the right consistency for baby. Add into a bowl and feed..

Banana oatmeal pancakes

yummy banana oatmeal pancakes for 2+ teeth babies, toddlers & kids

Ingredients: ( Banana Oatmeal pancakes ( for 2+ teeth babies, toddlers & kids ) )

banana – 1 ripe
egg – 1
oats – 1/2 cup ( 100 gms )
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
vanilla – 1/4 tsp ( optional )
oil or butter or ghee – 1 tbsp




Method:

Step 1) Add the oats in to a blender and powder until fine. Keep the oats flour aside.

Step 2) Add 1 ripe banana to a bowl. Mash well using a fork

Step 3) Add 1 egg and beat well

Step 4) Add vanilla essence, oats flour ( we made in the beginning ), baking powder and mix well.. like a thick batter

Step 5) Heat skillet or pancake pan or a fry pan. Grease with little oil or butter. keep on medium-heat

Step 6) Make medium-size pancakes. Cook bottom side for 1 minute or until light brown

Step 7) Flip and cook the otherside for 1 minute or until light brown.

Take out and serve with maple syrup or date syrup.
