PINK MACARONI RECIPE

PINK MACARONI RECIPE ( with healthy pink sauce )

INGREDIENTS:
Beetroot – half (or 1 small )
Onion – 1 red ( medium or 10 shallots )
Cashews – 10
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt & pepper as needed

Macaroni – 2 cups or 400 gms ( for 4 servings )
Water – for boiling macaroni

Macaroni and Cheese recipe

INGREDIENTS:
Macaroni – 2 Cups
salt – 2 tsp
water – 2 litres
Butter – 1/4 cup ( 60 gms )
flour – 1tbsp
Colby cheese – 300 gms
Mild-cheddar cheese – 200 gms
Mozzarella – 10 balls ( small )
Milk – 400 ml
cream – 100 ml
salt – a pinch
pepper – a pinch
nutmeg powder – a pinch

Method:

Step 1) Cook Macaroni:
Boil 2 litres water, add 2 tsp salt. Add macaroni and cook until soft.. takes 12 – 15 minutes

Step 2) Making Cheese Sauce:
I used 300 gms of Colby cheese, mild cheddar cheese and mozzarella for making the cheese sauce. You can use any cheese of your choice.

  • Heat a big pan. Add butter and flour, stir until creamy ( no lumps ).
  • Add little milk at a time and stir. Add 100 ml cream ( optional). Heat on medium until boiling.. keep stirring
  • Reduce heat to low and add the cheese shreds around 300 gms. stir to dissolve.
  • Remove pan from heat and add the seasonings ( a pinch of nutmeg powder, pepper powder and salt )
  • Return to heat, add the cooked macaroni and mix for 1 minute on low heat. Turn off the heat

Step 3) Baking Mac & Cheese:

  • Preheat Oven to 180 C / 350 F
  • In an oven-proof dish, add half of the cooked macaroni, half of the cheese shreds, remaining macaroni on top and remaining cheese shreds. I added some mozzarella cheese balls on top..this is optional
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until slightly golden on top
  • Once ready, remove from oven and serve warm 😀

    For babies and toddlers, cut into small piece and serve.. You can give this recipe for babies starting from 8 months..

INGREDIENTS:
OATS – 1/4 CUP ( OR 2 TBSP ) – ANY OATS IS FINE
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )
OPTIONAL – BANANA ( HALF )
OPTIONAL – BABY FORMULA – 1 SCOOP

METHOD:

Step 1) Into a saucepan, add oats, water and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes

Pour into a bowl and feed..

optional – add half mashed banana for a sweet taste
optional – add 1 scoop of baby formula for a creamy taste

  LUNCH - DAL (LENTIL) & PUMPKIN MASH FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
DAL / LENTIL ( MUNG DAL OR TUR DAL ) – 1 TBSP
PUMPKIN – HALF CUP ( OR 100 GMS )
WATER – 1 CUP ( OR 250 ML )

METHOD:
Step 1) Into a sauce pan, add the lentil/dal ( mung dal or our dal ), pumpkin pieces, water and bring it to a boil.

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes

Pour into a big bowl and mash using a fork or a potato masher. Pour into a bowl and feed

 DINNER - FISH PUREE FOR 8 MONTHS BABY

INGREDIENTS:
FISH ( SALMON OR ANY LESS SMELLY FISH ) – BONELESS, SKINLESS – 100 gms
TOMATO ( GRIND AND USE ) – 1
WATER – HALF CUP OR 100 ml
TURMERIC POWDER – A PINCH

METHOD:

Step 1) Add all the ingredients into a sauce pan. Cover and bring it to a boil

Step 2) Once it starts boiling, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes.

Add the cooked fish pieces into a big bowl and mash. Pour some cooked water to get the right consistency for baby. Add into a bowl and feed..

Coconut Almond Ladoo recipe

Tasty snack for toddlers & kids ..

Ingredients: ( for Coconut Almond/badam Ladoo recipe )

Coconut ( Fresh or dried ) – 3 cups or 400 gms
Almond (badam) – 1/3 cup or 100 gms
Ghee or butter – 1/4 cup ( or 60 ml )
Sugar – 1/2 cup or 120 gms
Milk – 1 cup ( or 250 ml )

Method:

Step 1) Chop the Almonds ( Badam ) into tiny pieces

Step 2) Heat a pan and roast the almond pieces (badam pieces) for 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate

Step 3) Heat a big pan. Add ghee or butter.

Step 4) Add the coconut and roast until slightly golden ( not brown or orange ) on medium-heat.

Step 5) Add milk and boil. Stir and cook until fully absorbed

Step 6) Add sugar and let it melt. Keep stirring and cook until fully absorbed.

Step 7) Add the roasted almonds and cook for just 1 minute.

Step 8) Transfer to a plate and start making ladoos ( or balls ) when hot. Press and hold for 3 seconds to let it stick together while shaping into ladoos ( or balls ).

Step 9) Refrigerate for 2 hours and enjoy 😀 ..

Taste tip: Refrigerate overnight & eat the next day to feel the real melt-in-mouth taste 😀

Banana oatmeal pancakes

yummy banana oatmeal pancakes for 2+ teeth babies, toddlers & kids

Ingredients: ( Banana Oatmeal pancakes ( for 2+ teeth babies, toddlers & kids ) )

banana – 1 ripe
egg – 1
oats – 1/2 cup ( 100 gms )
baking powder – 1/4 tsp
vanilla – 1/4 tsp ( optional )
oil or butter or ghee – 1 tbsp




Method:

Step 1) Add the oats in to a blender and powder until fine. Keep the oats flour aside.

Step 2) Add 1 ripe banana to a bowl. Mash well using a fork

Step 3) Add 1 egg and beat well

Step 4) Add vanilla essence, oats flour ( we made in the beginning ), baking powder and mix well.. like a thick batter

Step 5) Heat skillet or pancake pan or a fry pan. Grease with little oil or butter. keep on medium-heat

Step 6) Make medium-size pancakes. Cook bottom side for 1 minute or until light brown

Step 7) Flip and cook the otherside for 1 minute or until light brown.

Take out and serve with maple syrup or date syrup.
